No matter where we are, we can always find a few moments to slow down and breathe.
On Saturday morning, Craig and I took a walk around the Omokoroa golf course. It's a beautiful walk along the waterfront, alongside the course itself and then into residential streets.
After we were finished we stopped while Craig went into a shop and I waited in the car.
As soon as he left I automatically went to pick up my phone to check social media - but I stopped myself and thought, 'this is a perfect opportunity to practice mindfulness meditation'.
So, here's what I did:
1. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, and another and another.
2. Then, I consciously became aware of and thought about my feet on the floor and my backside sitting on the seat to ground myself.
3. I then focused on my breath and sat quietly until he returned.
This is such an easy practice you can do anywhere at all.
Give it a try and let me know how you go.
With love,
